No expense was spared in producing, showcasing and advertising these beautiful pieces of fashion history in Karl’s namesake during the 1980s-90s. Lagerfeld operated beautiful showrooms in Paris, New York & London in addition to being featured in the highest end department & boutique stores during this era.
The collection was as expensive as Chanel at this time and the runway shows were extravagant. In many ways it was the purest expression of Lagerfeld’s fashion genius without having to work within the constraints of an existing house’s iconography. These collections we’re produced in such limited quantities compared to the large fashion houses, making them incredibly rare to find today.
