WHAT IS THE VINTAGE RATING?
A Part of the Rest uses a simple system of garment rating. Remember, these items are 20 to even 50+ years old! We only choose items that are lovable and wearable, but condition can be relative to age and use. It is rare to find pieces that look like they are fresh off the store shelf from 1965 so please read the 4 tiered rating system as light wear from use is common.
* MINT: These are rare old pieces that are new old stock or have never been used, otherwise, in perfect condition ready to be worn!
* EXCELLENT: Very well kept for age, has been worn but with no imperfections, no alterations or otherwise.
* VERY GOOD: Shows light wear for the garment age. These garments are clean and ready, but may have some light flaws from use in the fabric or in the lining. We make sure to note such things in the item descriptions
* GOOD: Item shows its age but is still lovely and wearable. After all, sometimes, that perfect worn in look is best! . Any imperfections are noted in the item descriptions
HOW DOES SIZING WORK?
Our team measures each garment on a flat surface to give the most accurate measurements per garment. Chest, Waist and hip are doubled based on their flat specs to give the round measurements. We assign "modern sizing" in US letter size based on US contemporary size charts. Often, these are not always matching to the garment label size as sizing standards have changed dramatically throughout the years. Please be sure to read the flat specs given when considering purchase on our items.
Contemporary Sizing: XS (0-2): 34" chest/ 24-25" waist/ 35" hip
S (4-6): 35" chest/ 26" waist/ 36" hip
M (6/8): 36" chest/ 27-28" waist/ 37" hip
L (10+): 37" chest/ 28"+" waist/ 38"+ hip
