We said goodbye to one of the most influential designers of our time yesterday when Hubert de Givenchy passed away at age 91. The Master couturier and Ready to Wear designer created an expansive collection of runway and cinematic gems when he established the House of Givenchy after leaving the Balenciaga Atelier in 1952. Iconic designs like the little black dress from Breakfast at Tiffanys have left a mark on our pop culture along with his numerous pieces that will forever live in fashion history. M Givenchy designed for his own label for over 40 years until he passed on the reigns in 1995 leaving the house in the hands of some of the most talented designers of our modern times including Galliano, McQueen, and Ricardo Tisci and most recently Clare Waight Keller. Here's a look at some of the his work that spans over 40 years and online vintage pieces for you to grab to add to your collection.
